Rotary International President Mark Daniel Maloney inaugurated the 10th digital X-ray system of the HealthRays® Rotary District 6440 Project Tuesday, Sept. 3 at the Central Anti-Tuberculosis Dispensary, 10 Avenue 14-65, Guatemala City. President Maloney was joined by Rotarians representing Rotary International districts 6440 and 7300 in the United States as well as 4250 in Guatemala, Honduras and Belize. Dr. Carlos Enrique Soto Manegazzo, Minister of Public Health and Social Assistance of Guatemala, and Dr. Oscar Barreneche, Director of the Pan American Health Organization in Guatemala, also attended the ceremony.

The X-ray system can perform radiographs on any part of the body and can store up to one million images. In addition, radiologists at the San Juan de Dios and Roosevelt Hospital will be able to access the radiographs in real-time online.

The 29 digital X-ray machine installation project has a projected cost of a little more than $2.5 million.
